Why is it called Rodeo Drive?

The street is named after Rancho Rodeo de las Aguas, the Spanish land grant on which Beverly Hills was later built.

"Rodeo" here is the Spanish word for a cattle roundup, not the American sport, which is why the name is pronounced roh-DAY-oh.
